According to PAG-ASA, the public weather forecast issued today, October 6, 2009 @ 5:00, valid from 5:00 am to 5:00 am tomorrow:
At 4:00 a.m. today, Tropical Storm "PEPENG" {PARMA} was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 170 kms North Northwest of Laoag City (19.8°N, 120.0°E) with maximum sustained winds of 105 kph near center and gustiness of up to 135 kph. It is forecast to remain almost stationary. Meanwhile, Typhoon "QUEDAN" {MELOR} was located at 910 km East Northeast of Basco, Batanes (21.9°N, 131.8°E) with maximum sustained winds of 205 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 240 kph. It is forecast to move North Northwest at 26 kph.
Extreme Northern Luzon will experience stormy weather. The rest of Northern Luzon will have rains and gusty winds with moderate to rough seas. Central Luzon will be mostly cloudy with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms. The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Southwest will prevail over the rest of the country with moderate to rough seas.
